Increasing skills in leg ulcer management

This three-day competency based training programme builds on the existing skills of professionals who are already regularly managing patients with lower limb problems who want to take their current clinical expertise to an advanced level.

 

This course is accredited by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).

Face to face sessions at Accelerate Academy, Hackney, London in our the cutting-edge facilities – The Centre for Learning & Excellence.

 

Virtual sessions – will be held using the MS Teams virtual learning environment (VLE) with informative webinars, discussion, Q & A and one to one sessions.

 

All the support you need – we have an Academy Moderator who’ll support you in digitally preparing for the course should you need assistance.

Learning outcomes

  1. Build existing skills of lower limb assessment and enhance your practice in the management of the foot and toes. Includes toe brachial pressure index measurement, toe bandaging and stumping.
  2. Learn more about chronic oedema to support decision making and treatment planning of patients who require compression therapy and have a diagnosis of heart failure.
  3. Enhance clinical practice through learning about the use of medications in lower limb care such as antimicrobials and topical steroids.
